Mexico City, July 2025 – Leading global solar module manufacturer Seraphim and SPIC-Zuma Energía—one of the most prominent generators, solar park developers and operators in Mexico—have announced the launch of a joint project for the supply and installation of solar modules in two of the country’s most important solar parks: Santa María, located in Galeana, Chihuahua, and Orejana, in Hermosillo, Sonora.
This cooperation agreement includes an initial supply of 12MW of solar modules, along with critical spare parts to ensure technical consistency with the original design of both plants. Featuring polycrystalline technology with 72 cells and power outputs between 325–330W, Seraphim specifically manufactured these modules to meet a key industry need: the availability of compatible technology for existing systems currently in operation.
Together, the Santa María and Orejana parks host over one million solar panels, totaling 344MW in installed capacity—equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 400,000 households—and contribute to reducing an estimated 310,000 tons of CO₂ emissions per year. The first phase of the project has already begun at the Santa María Solar Park with the successful arrival of initial shipments. The second phase will continue in the coming weeks at the Orejana Park. Seraphim will lead the supply and installation of the modules, while SPIC-Zuma Energía will oversee operational coordination, ensuring the process is carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with the highest technical standards.
“It is an honor for Seraphim to establish this cooperation and formalize the agreement, marking a more stable partnership between companies with solid track records. We look forward to future collaborative efforts to promote the development of Mexico’s photovoltaic market and advance the adoption of new solar technologies,” said Insan Boy, Global Vice President of Sales at Seraphim.
Richard Xie, CEO of SPIC-Zuma Energía, added: “The launch of this project is a decisive step
toward strengthening our field operations. It allows us to maintain long-term generation efficiency and reaffirms our commitment to delivering reliable, safe, and sustainable energy. It also reflects our ability to innovate in maintenance and the strong collaboration among our technical, legal, financial, and operational teams.”
Both companies agree that Mexico’s solar market holds significant potential thanks to its abundant solar resources. This strategic alliance helps unlock that potential by supporting long-term solutions that preserve existing infrastructure while promoting the development and adoption of new clean technologies. Through this initiative, Seraphim and SPIC-Zuma Energía reaffirm their commitment to sustainability, operational reliability, and the transformation of Mexico’s energy sector, laying a strong foundation for future collaborations toward a cleaner, smarter, and more resilient energy future.
